  • Spacing: There was a lack of white spacing; I added breathing room in the newest version. There is also a clear delineation in new sections with lines and using background colour.
  • Headings: I ensured the style of headings was consistent.
  • Visual Impact: I revised the heading to be concise, fill the space, and have a better call to action. The previous one where the same link.
  • New menu: The menu now reduces the number of clicks to get to the product page and has additional functionality with the search bar and social media links.
  • New sections: With more focus now on the projects, I added the trending designs and client works section. I moved the about us to its one page, and the four sections are now menu items, as mentioned before.

Product Page

This is where the majority of the work was done.

  • Above the fold: Instead of having the images rendered on a single page. I used pagination to keep it above the fold and, in addition, render it as the user goes to the next page. Thus, reducing load time.
  • Filtering: The old webpage has the entire categories and subcategories on the product page. The filtering system was at the bottom and could only be reached when a user scrolled to the bottom. This was not a friendly user experience. I reduced the number of categories and subcategories to those necessary and had the filtering system the first item you see. I used drop-down items to keep the design clean.
  • Additional information: The old design didn’t have the info if the product was out of stock, low in stock, or a popular item. I added these to the new page.
  • Optimizing Images: I converted all the images to the new format webp for faster loading and fixed the issue of images not showing up if it’s not the main image.

Individual Product Page

  • Information Consolidated: Product information was dynamically linked in a CMS, allowing me to ensure all relevant information appeared on the individual product page. The information was now on the right side instead of having it in multiple places.
  • Recommendations: I added the feature of recommended items to drive sales and improve the user experience.

Intex Paper Bead

The packaging was designed for a New Zealand Company for a line of Paper bead Products. Mockups had to be made for 4 various sizes including labels. Strict adherence to brand colours and fonts.

SRP Control Systems Ltd. Catalog

Since 1980, SRP control systems have provided instrumentation and calibration solutions in the oil & gas, chemical & petrochemical, power generation & transmission, water/wastewater, industrial, research, aerospace, process control and maintenance markets.

I designed their 2020 Catalog with a fresh updated look that still stayed true to the traditional visuals from older catalogues.

Summit Doors Catalog

Summit Glass/Doors is a distributor and installer of door inserts & handles established in 2010, it has served mainly the GTA and the surrounding area.

I had to photograph over 80 products and edit the photos using Adobe Photoshop. I then designed the catalogue using Adobe InDesign, focusing on a clean and simple look. The main point of the catalogue was to be user-friendly. Having tabs, a thumbnail table of contents and dividing it into sections allows for easy usage for contractors and end-users.

Disney Princesses/Heroines Business Cards

Just for fun, I thought it would be humorous if I made fake business cards for the Disney princess. I tried to imagine what job would fit with each princess and it was quite hard!

The Little Mermaid

I’ve got whozits and whatzits galore. You want thingamabobs?
I got twenty.

I imagine Ariel as someone who loves old things and collecting neat objects. Shelves filled with wonderful objects and each with its own story to tell.

Beauty and the Beast

Belle is a voracious reader and opens a book store to continue her love her reading. She always take great care in recommending books to her customers, and loves talking to them too.

Well it’s my favourite! Far off places, daring sword fights, magic spells,  a prince in disguise!

Mulan

“We must be swift as the coursing river, with all the force of a great typhoon, with all the strength of a raging fire, mysterious as the dark side of a moon”

Teaching martial arts is a great passion for Mulan and she would be a great teacher as evidence in the sequels!

If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.
